Empowering Rural India: Leveraging Solar Technology for Women's Economic Independence

Tag Solar System LLP recently collaborated with the prestigious FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) to promote their ongoing program on women's empowerment. The aim is to use solar-based technology in off-grid mode to improve the livelihoods of rural India.

As part of our collaboration, we deployed a single-phase 2.6 kVA controller, a technology that significantly enhances financial independence, living standards, and women's health. This versatile technology not only slashes electricity bills but also provides round-the-clock power, reducing the reliance on fossil fuels. Moreover, it opens up avenues for income generation beyond agriculture, particularly during post-harvest management.

Our adoption of solar-based technology is not just about providing access to electricity. It's about paving the way for economic empowerment. This technology creates employment opportunities across various sectors in rural areas and fosters entrepreneurship. Women entrepreneurs can leverage the versatility of the technology to operate a variety of agrarian equipment, thereby bolstering their economic independence. Our focus on Rajasthan has seen the successful deployment of the USPC (Universal Solar Pump Controller) and SPCM (Sinusoidal Pump Controller with MPPT) technology in various districts, a strategic move that is already bearing fruit in our mission to empower women through solar technology.

Recently, a workshop was held at Jai Mahal Palace, with FICCI's gathering of over 1000+ people, where the collaboration was successfully presented. We had the opportunity to meet dignitaries from several industries to represent our recent collaboration. It was an excellent meet-up, which received a very positive response. Through this collaboration, we continue our endeavour to democratize energy, a mission we strongly believe is key to democratizing wealth, especially for women and farmers in India.
