The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) organized the Renewable Energy Investors’ Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2019), a three-day conference. The goal was to establish a robust network of key stakeholders and showcase India’s growing renewable energy (RE) potential, focusing on attracting international investors.
At the event, Shri R K Singh, the Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, delivered a keynote highlighting India’s growing energy sector potential, attracting broad RE investments. RE-INVEST was the perfect platform to encourage international investment and foster dialogue. Shri Upendra Tripathy, the Director of the General of the ISA, underscored the need for global collaboration. This collective effort and industrial policies are crucial to driving the renewable energy transition and providing energy access to the 1 billion people worldwide who lack this basic necessity. This emphasis on the global impact of the event makes everyone present feel part of this noble mission.
On June 30th, 2019, India accounted for about 80.47 GW of total installed energy capacity, of which solar power was 29.455 GW and wind power 36.37 GW (with biomass and small hydroelectric projects existing at 9.81 GW and 4.6 GW, respectively). This also significantly emphasized India’s opportunity as a market for investment that the government broadly supports. The previous RE-INVEST was a resounding success, allowing collaboration with key stakeholders in the Indian renewable energy market and providing a platform to work on global energy investment. This broad support from the government reassures the stability of the investment environment.
For us RE-INVEST has been a key stakeholder and partner platform. It has allowed us to showcase our cutting-edge solar technology products. These products have successfully contributed to India’s broad goals of expanding its energy capability and meeting sustainability targets. Their active participation in the event, which provided an opportunity to meet over 230 stakeholders and work collaboratively on attracting global investments, is a testament to their commitment to India’s ambitious potential in the renewable sector.
